Mikrocollid (Finishes)

With Mikrocollid, Trennex® offers graphite-yielding or graphite-free finishes for low-pressure and gravity casting – for aluminum die casting as well as brass casting.

Graphite containing

WLG 20/1

Form liquid

Colour black

Application area

Mikrocollid WLG 20/1 is a water-soluble graphite concentrate for use in light metal and heavy metal die-casting.

It is to be diluted with tap water.

Mikrocollid WLG 20/1 is applied in a dilution of approx. 1:20 to 1:40 or above with water (best dilution ratiois to be ascertained individually in compliance with technical casting conditions). After evaporation of the water, a uniform and well adhesive film is formed.

Coating is normally done once or twice.

The excellent heat conductivity of Mikrocollid WLG 20/1 causes an advantageous heat exchange between product and die-mould.

Mikrocollid WLG 20/1 stops soldering of metal to die and, by this, facilitates output of castings.

Mikrocollid WLG 20/1 reduces surface unevenness of moulds and cores and contributes considerably to smooth surfaces.

Mikrocollid WLG 20/1 avoids early erosion of die-moulds caused by metal flow and therefore prolon

Mikrocollid WLG 20/6 is a water-soluble graphite concentrate for use in light metal and heavy metal die-casting.

Graphite-free

WLK 40/15

Form liquid

Colour white

Application area

Water-miscible, graphite-free insulating layer with a solid content of approx. 40% is applied in the mixture ratio of 1 : 3 to 1 : 10 to the thoroughly cleaned and grease-free mould through spraying or immersion.

The mould temperature should be at least 150° C but not exceed 300° C in order to achieve immediate adhesion and to avoid bubbles forming.

The particle size of the solid material was selected in such a way as to achieve a perfect metal flow with an essentially smooth surface for the wide range of castings (various wall thickness).

Graphite finishes which are used in conjunction with Mikrocollid WLK 40/15 take quickly within a wide temperature range and provide reliable adhesion.

The low heat conductivity of Mikrocollid WLK 40/15 reliably prevents the metal giving off heat too quickly to the mould.

770 WL Löffelschlichte

Form liquid

Colour white

Application area

Mikrocollid 770 WL Löffelschlichte is a water miscible, graphite-free insulating layer with a solid content of approx. 40%.

It is applied to the cleaned, grease-free and cold mould bucket by spraying, immersing or painting.

The product is supplied ready for use.

Mikrocollid 770 WL Löffelschlichte should not be stored at temperatures > 40°C otherwise this may lead to a premature, unwanted hardening of the product.

The low heat conductivity of Mikrocollid 770 WL Löffelschlichte reliably reduces any excessively rapid heat dissipation from the metal and consequently improves the quality of the cast melting.

Maintenance work and down times can be reduced through the use of Mikrocollid 770 WL Löffelschlichte.
